Fin Garden (Iran)

Weather…

Fin Garden (Bagh-e Fin) in the oasis city of Kashan represents the quintessence of the classic Persian garden and is the oldest park of its kind to survive to this day in Iran. Laid out at the end of the 16th century by Shah Abbas I, the garden materializes the Islamic and Zoroastrian concept of an earthly paradise. It is a masterpiece of design that perfectly balances symmetry with the dynamism of water and the shade of secular trees. An ingenious hydraulic system uses the natural pressure of the adjacent Sulaimaniyeh spring to feed the fountains and pools without mechanical pumps. At the same time, the garden also plays a tragic role in history, being the place where the reformist prime minister Amir Kabir was assassinated in one of its hammams in the year 1852.
