Founded in 1996, the Isfahan Birds Garden is a premier ecological facility situated on the banks of the Zayanderud River within the Nazhvan Forest Park. The 55,000-square-meter complex provides a safe, natural habitat for an immense diversity of bird species from various climatic zones around the world. The most striking architectural feature is a massive 40,000-square-meter chain-link canopy supported by 11 towering steel columns, which creates a gigantic free-flight enclosure. The interior landscape design incorporates artificial lakes, waterfalls, and dense vegetation to establish optimal breeding conditions. Strolling along wooden walkways, visitors can observe over 5,000 birds representing approximately 130 different species, including rare toucans, colorful parrots, flamingos, and local birds of prey.
