Szántódpuszta is a preserved historic farmstead and open-air museum located on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, near Szántód. Originally, the site served as a major agricultural estate for the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany, with its history documented back to the 11th century. The current architectural ensemble consists of about 30 buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, representing traditional Hungarian rural life and economy. Visitors can explore granaries, stables, craft workshops, and the Saint Christopher's Chapel, which dates back to 1735. The complex was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize in 1995 for its authentic restoration and preservation of cultural heritage. It functions today as a cultural center hosting exhibitions on local history and folk art.
