Blairmont is a significant industrial settlement located on the West Bank of the Berbice River in Guyana, within the Mahaica-Berbice region. The locality is inextricably linked to the Blairmont Sugar Estate, one of the largest and most productive sugar plantations in the country. Since the colonial era, Blairmont has been a center for sugar production, with its factory playing a central role in the economy of the entire region. The settlement houses a community of estate workers and their families, whose lives are closely tied to the rhythmic cycles of the sugar cane harvest. Blairmont features its own river stelling (wharf), which was historically vital for the transport of sugar and supplies. The architecture of the area reflects its industrial heritage, consisting of factory installations and staff housing. Despite challenges in the global sugar industry, Blairmont remains a vital part of the Guyanese industrial landscape and a major employer in the West Berbice district.
