Aegio, one of the oldest and most important cities of Achaea in the Peloponnese, enjoys an attractive location on the shores of the Corinthian Gulf. The town is divided into a photogenic lower town on the waterfront and a bustling upper town, connected by cobblestone streets and old stone steps. The port of Aegio historically played an important role in the export of the famous Vostizza raisins, which remain a local quality product today. The beaches around Aegio are characterized by clear waters and fine pebbles. Paralia Alyki provides a quiet, natural environment near a small wetland. The organized beaches of Akoli and Temeni are particularly popular, equipped with sunbeds, beach bars, and excellent infrastructure. Digeliotika also attracts bathers with its relaxing atmosphere and shade-giving trees. In the fish tavernas along the waterfront promenade, visitors can enjoy the catch of the day accompanied by local wines from the hills of the Egialia region. Aegio harmoniously combines historic churches, industrial monuments, and an inviting coastline for an authentic Greek holiday.
