Lutterbach is a spirited Alsatian town located in the Haut-Rhin department, perfectly positioned at the northwestern edge of Mulhouse. Its history is a testament to the industrial and cultural evolution of the region. The town gained regional fame through the Lutterbach Brewery, established in 1648, which for centuries was the economic heartbeat of the community. Even today, the brewing heritage remains a source of pride, echoed in local architecture and traditions. Lutterbach's strategic importance was further enhanced in 1839 with the arrival of the railway, making it a key junction between Mulhouse, Strasbourg, and the Thann valley. The Doller river flows through the commune, providing a natural corridor and lush banks for recreation and biodiversity. In recent years, Lutterbach has successfully transitioned from its heavy industrial roots to become a sought-after residential suburb. It features excellent public transport links, including the innovative Tram-Train system that connects the Vosges valleys directly to the heart of Mulhouse. The town center is home to the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church and provides a range of services, parks, and schools, making it a well-suited place for families. Lutterbach continues to celebrate its unique Alsatian identity through various festivals and a welcoming community spirit.
