The town is known for its elegant 19th-century architecture, characterized by colonnades, pavilions, and spa houses. The heart of the spa quarter is the neo-baroque cast-iron colonnade, the longest of its kind in the Czech Republic. In front of it is the Singing Fountain, which plays to classical music every odd hour. More than 40 mineral springs with different chemical compositions rise in the town and its surroundings. Famous visitors like King Edward VII, Goethe, and Chopin contributed to the international fame of the spa, which is surrounded by wooded hills and exudes an atmosphere of tranquility and elegance.
