Ždrelac is the gateway to Pašman Island, named after the 'Mali Ždrelac' strait that separates Ugljan and Pašman islands. Since 1973, an impressive bridge has connected the two islands, making Ždrelac an important nautical hub. Sailors frequently use this passage on their way to the Kornati National Park. The village spreads around a deep bay and gives a mix of traditional fishing houses and modern holiday villas. Particularly attractive for bathers is the Matlovac beach, which features a shallow sandy bottom and is convenient for children. The surroundings of Ždrelac are rich in olive groves and vineyards, inviting for hiking and cycling tours. From the bridge, there is a fantastic view of passing yachts and the Zadar archipelago. The parish church of Saint Luke is the architectural landmark in the old town center. Thanks to frequent ferry connections from Zadar to Ugljan and the bridge connection, Ždrelac is one of the easiest island settlements to reach in Dalmatia.
