Kukljica is located in the southeast of Ugljan island, right by the Ždrelac strait that separates Ugljan from Pašman island. The village has preserved the charm of an old Dalmatian fishing village, with narrow streets and stone houses clustered around the protected natural harbor. Kukljica is often referred to as the island's tourist center, offering excellent anchorages and good infrastructure. The surroundings are rich in dense pine forests and olive groves reaching down to the sea. Among the most famous beaches are Sabuša, Kostanj, and Jelenica, valued for their crystal-clear water and natural shade. Boat excursions to the nearby Kornati National Park or Telašćica Nature Park often depart directly from the harbor in Kukljica. A special feature of the village is the traditional boat procession 'Gospa od Snijega' (Our Lady of the Snow), held every August 5th, attracting numerous visitors. In local restaurants, one can enjoy fresh fish, premium olive oil, and local wines. Connection to the mainland is very convenient via the ferry from Preko to Zadar.
