Kula Atlagić is located in the fertile plain of Ravni Kotari, just two kilometers from Benkovac. The village name derives from the fortified tower (Kula) that once belonged to the noble Atlagić family. This tower is an important monument from the era of border conflicts between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Venice. For centuries, the region served as a vital strategic point. The village is rich in archaeological traces ranging from Roman times to the Middle Ages. Especially noteworthy are the remains of the old fortress and sacred buildings that have partially survived despite many wars. The architecture reflects the diverse history of Ravni Kotari, where various cultural influences blended. Today, the village is focused on agriculture, particularly viticulture and olive growing. The area surrounding Kula Atlagić is well-suited for history buffs and nature lovers. Nearby is the Asseria fortress, a significant Liburnian-Roman settlement. The flat yet undulating landscape of Ravni Kotari invites cycling tours that pass by numerous wineries. Here, one can taste the famous regional wine and enjoy hearty rural cuisine, renowned for lamb dishes cooked under the peka lid.
