Mihalj belongs to the Slivno municipality in the far south of Croatia. The place is situated in a gentle hilly landscape that marks the transition from the fertile Neretva Delta to the rocky Adriatic coast. The village is known for its agriculture, particularly for growing olives and citrus fruits. The architecture is traditionally Dalmatian, with houses often built from local limestone. Nearby Mihalj are the tourist spots of Klek and Duboka, which offer beautiful pebble beaches and crystal-clear water. A cultural highlight of the area is the Smrdan grad fortress above Klek, built in the 17th century for defense against the Ottomans. From there, you have a fantastic view of the new Pelješac Bridge. Visitors to Mihalj appreciate the combination of rural tranquility and proximity to the sea. The Slivno region is also known for its viticulture. Local winemakers produce excellent wines such as Plavac Mali. Excursions to the Neretva Delta offer the possibility of boat tours in traditional 'trupice' and tasting specialties like frog or eel stew.
