Sreser is a small gem on the northern coast of the Pelješac peninsula. Once a pure fishing village, it has now become a popular destination for families seeking peace and shallow sandy beaches, a rarity on the Croatian Adriatic. The town has a magnificent view of the small islands in the Neretva Channel and the new Pelješac Bridge. The village is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. This is where the famous Plavac Mali grape grows, from which some of Croatia's best red wines are produced. A stroll through the village leads past traditional stone houses and small jetties where fishing boats gently sway in the water. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic. For active vacationers, Sreser provides handy conditions for windsurfing in nearby Viganj or boat trips to the uninhabited islands of Gospin Školj and Stupa. The shallow waters warm up quickly in summer and are convenient for small children. Local cuisine features fresh fish, mussels, and oysters from the nearby Bay of Mali Ston. Thanks to the new Pelješac Bridge, Sreser is now much easier to reach without having to cross the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. From Dubrovnik, it is about an hour's drive, making it an excellent spot for a quiet holiday away from the crowds.
