Water temperature…
Peračko Blato is located near the port city of Ploče, directly on the shores of the seven Baćina Lakes. This lake district is a unique natural phenomenon, as the water in some places is deeper than sea level (cryptodepression). The village is surrounded by lush vegetation of reeds, fig trees, and pomegranates, giving it an almost jungle-like appearance. Life in the village is closely connected to the lake water. Visitors can rent traditional 'lađa' boats and explore hidden channels and islets. The lakes are rich in freshwater fish and offer pleasant refreshment, as water temperatures in summer are often higher than in the sea. There are several designated swimming areas and small campsites directly on the waterfront. In the surrounding area, you can buy local fruit for which the Neretva Delta is famous, especially mandarins and dried figs. Peračko Blato is a handy location for birdwatchers and anglers. Although only minutes from the Adriatic, it has a completely different, green, and quiet world far from the maritime bustle.
