Slivno is located in the southern part of Dalmatia, set between the fertile Neretva delta and the Adriatic coast. The municipality consists of several settlements, with Slivno Ravno being the historical center inland and Klek being the modern coastal tourist center. A major highlight is the Smrdan grad fortress, a monumental 17th-century structure that once served as defense against the Ottomans and gives a panoramic view over the Adriatic and the Pelješac peninsula. The region is characterized by olive groves and vineyards established on steep terraces directly above the sea. The town of Klek is situated in an easy on the eye bay and has beautiful pebble beaches and clear water, convenient for family holidays. Near Klek is also the Nonković tower from the Venetian period. The local economy is driven by mandarin cultivation in the Neretva valley, winemaking (Plavac Mali variety), and tourism. Slivno is a place that perfectly combines the peace of the hinterland with the beauty of the Dalmatian coast.
