Its most famous feature is the Grič Cannon (Grički top), which has been fired daily at precisely 12:00 noon since January 1, 1877. This tradition originally served to provide the city's bell-ringers with the exact time, ensuring synchronized timekeeping across Zagreb's churches. Today, the cannon blast is a highlight for tourists and a rhythmic part of local life. Visitors can climb to the top for a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the Upper Town, the Cathedral, and the sprawling Lower Town.
