💡 Tips
- Visit the Blue Lagoon (Krknjaši) early in the morning to beat the day-trippers from Trogir.
- Check the ferry schedule from Trogir or Seget Donji carefully, as trips are infrequent.
- Wear sturdy shoes if you plan to explore the rocky paths to the island's remote bays.
- Bring plenty of sunscreen and water, as many beaches offer no natural shade.
- Embrace the 'Pomalo' vibe: everything here happens at a much slower and relaxed pace.

Drvenik Veliki is the only settlement on the island of the same name in the Trogir archipelago. The village lies in a deep bay on the northwestern side and has almost entirely preserved its original charm, as there are no large hotel complexes. The island is known for its rugged coastline with numerous pebble beaches and secluded bays. The most famous attraction is undoubtedly the Krknjaši bay, often called the 'Blue Lagoon', whose turquoise shallow waters attract sailors and day-trippers from Trogir and Split. The village itself consists of old stone houses clustered around the harbor. Worth visiting is the unfinished 16th-century Church of Saint George (Sveti Juraj), whose massive walls and Renaissance elements testify to the ambitious plans of the past. Nearby is also the smaller Church of Saint Nicholas. Life on Drvenik Veliki follows a slow rhythm, determined by fishing and olive cultivation. The island is good for hikes through Mediterranean macchia and olive groves. Since there are very few cars, Drvenik Veliki is a paradise for those seeking tranquility. Local cuisine is based on the simplest ingredients: fresh fish, homemade olive oil, and wine from the island's small vineyards. It is the first-rate place to escape the hustle and bustle of Trogir and enjoy authentic island life.
