Paipa

Paipa is the main tourist center in the Boyacá department, known for its outstanding thermal baths and beautiful Andean landscapes. The city attracts travelers looking to relax in the mineral-rich hot springs, which are attributed with therapeutic properties. The heart of the tourist activities is Lago Sochagota, an artificial lake handy for water sports such as kayaking, water skiing, and relaxing boat rides. Numerous luxury hotels and spas surround the lake. The region also has deep insights into Colombian history; the nearby Pantano de Vargas monument honors a decisive battle in the War of Independence.
