Getting there
The Srepok River flows through the remote Mondulkiri province. It is accessible by road from Sen Monorom, though the final kilometers often involve traveling over unpaved dirt tracks.
Best season
The period immediately following the rainy season (October to December) is good for seeing the waterfalls in full glory. In the late dry season, the river's water level is significantly lower.
Terrain & paths
The terrain is characterized by dense forests and deep gorges. Paths to the waterfalls can be steep, slippery, and overgrown with vegetation, requiring sure-footedness from all hikers.
What to bring
Good hiking boots with traction, mosquito repellent, and weather-resistant clothing are necessary. A waterproof case for your camera is very useful when visiting the misty waterfalls.
Parking
Simple parking is available at the trailheads to the waterfalls or near local eco-lodges. During the rainy season, these parking areas can become very muddy and difficult to navigate.
Safety
Beware of strong currents near the waterfalls and deep gorges. Since the region is very remote, you should always travel in groups and consider hiring an experienced local guide.
Time needed
Plan at least 4 to 6 hours for a visit to the waterfalls and riverside areas. Many visitors combine the trip with a hike through the surrounding dense jungle of Mondulkiri province.
