Corpus Christi Church (Belarus)

Weather…

The Corpus Christi Church in Nesvizh stands as a monumental milestone in European architectural history, recognized as the very first Baroque building constructed in all of Eastern Europe. Designed by the esteemed Italian architect Giovanni Maria Bernardoni and completed in 1593, the church's design was heavily inspired by the famous Il Gesù in Rome. While its exterior facade is undeniably majestic, its true splendor lies within: the interior is completely enveloped in elaborate, highly detailed 18th-century frescoes depicting biblical scenes in animated colors. The church's historical significance is further elevated by its vast subterranean crypt. Serving as the eternal resting place for the incredibly powerful Radziwill noble family, the crypt houses over 70 ornate sarcophagi, making it the third-largest family mausoleum in Europe, following only the Habsburgs and the Bourbons.
