Tarakaniv Fort, located near the city of Dubno, is a remarkable example of late 19th-century military engineering from the Russian Empire. Built in the 1880s and 1890s, the fort was designed to protect the strategic railway line between Kyiv and Lviv. The structure is characterized by its innovative blend of concrete, brick, and deep underground casemates dug into the earth.
