Saklıkent Gorge
Saklıkent Gorge is a natural wonder that draws adventure seekers from around the world to walk through its narrow, high-walled canyon. Formed by snowmelt from the Taurus Mountains, the river at the base is freezing even in summer, providing a refreshing escape from the Mediterranean heat. Visitors can walk several kilometers into the gorge, cross bridges over rushing rapids, or enjoy a natural mud bath at the riverbanks. For those seeking more adrenaline, river tubing and bungee jumping are available near the entrance. The area features several riverside restaurants where guests can dine on traditional Turkish pancakes (gözleme) while suspended over the water on wooden platforms. It is located roughly halfway between Fethiye and Kaş, easily reached by local dolmuş. The best time to visit is between May and September, as the water levels are safe and the cool breeze within the canyon is most welcome.
