Olympos (Turkey)

Weather…

Olympos is a mystical ancient city hidden in a lush river valley that opens onto a spectacular beach. Unlike most archaeological sites, the Roman and Lycian ruins here are scattered among dense vegetation, giving it a unique 'jungle' atmosphere. It is world-renowned for its bohemian vibe and iconic treehouse accommodations. A cold stream flows through the ruins into the sea, providing a refreshing place to swim. The area is a magnet for backpackers, rock climbers, and travelers looking for a rustic experience away from modern resorts. At night, the lack of streetlights makes it an incredible spot for stargazing, and the nearby Chimaera flames add to the magic. Located south of Antalya, it is accessible by bus or car followed by a walk through the archaeological site. Peak season is summer, but the cooler months of spring and autumn are better for exploring the ruins and climbing. It remains one of Turkey's most distinctive and adventurous coastal destinations.
