Köprülü Canyon (Turkey)

Weather…

The Köprülü Canyon National Park is located in Antalya province and stretches along the Köprüçay River. The canyon extends for approximately 14 kilometers and reaches depths of up to 400 meters in several locations. Geographically, the area is defined by dramatic limestone formations and a diverse ecosystem, including the world's largest natural Mediterranean cypress forest. A key historical landmark is the Oluk Bridge, a Roman stone bridge dating back to the 2nd century AD that spans the river at a high elevation. Nearby lie the ruins of the ancient city of Selge, once a significant mountain fortress in the Taurus range. Today, the park is a premier destination for outdoor adventure, particularly white-water rafting and canyoning. The protected area also provides a habitat for rare wildlife, such as the golden eagle and indigenous trout species inhabiting the clear waters.
