Toufen is the most populous city in Miaoli County, Taiwan, situated in the northwestern part of the country. Originally a village inhabited by Hakka and Hoklo settlers, it underwent rapid transformation during the late 20th century due to industrial development. The city's geography is characterized by the confluence of the Zhonggang River and its proximity to the Taiwan Strait. Toufen is often considered a twin city with neighboring Zhunan, forming a major industrial and commercial hub.
