Sheikh Najjar Industrial City (Syria)

Weather…

Sheikh Najjar Industrial City, located approximately 15 kilometers northeast of Aleppo, is one of the largest and most significant industrial zones in Syria. Established by Legislative Decree in 2004, the site covers an area of roughly 4,412 hectares and was designed to accommodate thousands of manufacturing facilities. The city is divided into specialized zones focusing on textiles, food processing, chemicals, and engineering industries, providing a centralized hub for northern Syria's economy. During the Syrian Civil War, the area became a major battlefield between 2012 and 2014, resulting in extensive damage to infrastructure and factories. Since the government regained control, a massive reconstruction effort has been underway to restore electricity, water, and transport links to encourage investors to return. Despite the challenges, hundreds of factories have resumed operations, highlighting the resilience of Aleppo's industrial heritage and its role in the country's economic recovery.
