Weather…

Val Ferret is a high alpine valley in the Canton of Valais, stretching south from Orsières to the Grand Golliat on the border with Italy. It forms the eastern boundary of the Mont Blanc massif and is renowned for its pristine nature and impressive glacial scenery. The Drance de Ferret river flows through the valley, collecting meltwater from the surrounding peaks. Val Ferret is a central component of the 'Tour du Mont Blanc' long-distance hiking trail, which attracts thousands of mountaineers annually. The settlement of La Fouly serves as the main tourist hub and starting point for expeditions into the high Alps. Botanically, the valley is of international interest due to its diversity of alpine plants, including rare orchids like the lady's slipper. Geologically, the region is shaped by the boundary between the crystalline Mont Blanc massif and the sedimentary rocks of the Penninic nappes.
