Pay attention to the one-way alternating traffic schedule on the mountain road to Stöckalp, the cable car's valley station. The road is only open for uphill or downhill traffic at specific times.
Melchsee-Frutt is a car-free resort in summer. You can park your car at Stöckalp and take the cable car up.
Use the 'Fruttli-Zug', a small road train that runs between Melchsee-Frutt and Tannalp. It's great for families or for covering longer distances on the plateau.

In winter, the area transforms into a family-friendly ski resort with 36 kilometers of slopes and an 8 km long sledding run back down to Stöckalp.
