Neuhausen am Rheinfall is located in the canton of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland and is inseparably linked to the spectacular Rhine Falls. Over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries, the community developed from a modest farming village into a major industrial center. This transformation was largely driven by the hydropower of the Rhine, which led to the settlement of large companies such as the Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft (SIG). Geographically, the town extends on a terrace above the Rhine, offering sweeping views of the falling masses of water. The architecture of the town is an interesting mix of historical workers' settlements, industrialist palaces, and modern residential quarters. Tourist-wise, Neuhausen is a global magnet; visitors from all over the world use the numerous viewing platforms and boat tours to experience the power of nature up close. Despite its tourist importance, the community has maintained a high quality of life with modern infrastructure. Today's economy is diversified and benefits from the direct connection to the rail network and its proximity to the regional center of Schaffhausen and the Zurich economic area.
