Embrach lies in the heart of the Embracher Valley and is one of the most important municipalities in the Bülach district of the Canton of Zurich. The history of the town is closely linked to the St. Peter collegiate church founded in the 9th century, which dominated religious and economic life for centuries. Today, Embrach presents itself as a modern residential area, particularly attractive to families and professionals due to its strategic proximity to Zurich Airport and the city of Winterthur. Despite strong growth, the municipality has preserved its village character, as seen in the well-maintained timber-framed houses in the village center. Geographically, Embrach is surrounded by a diverse landscape of forests, gentle hills, and wide fields that invite extensive hiking. A special feature is the viticulture practiced on the sunny slopes of the valley, producing local specialties. Economically, the municipality gives a good mix of commercial enterprises, services, and agricultural businesses. Community life is very active and forms the social backbone of the municipality. With modern educational facilities and diverse sporting opportunities, Embrach has a high quality of life. The Reformed Church with its striking tower remains the valley's landmark, visible from afar and reminding of the town's long Christian tradition.
