The magnificent modern exterior situated right on the waterfront can be explored freely at any time. Inside access is mainly for those attending scheduled opera performances, dining at the restaurant, or joining organized architectural tours.
Typical hours
Public areas, the box office, and the restaurant generally open during the day and prior to evening performances. If you wish to see the auditorium without a performance ticket, you will typically need to book a guided tour in advance.
Photography
Capturing the innovative architecture from the riverside promenade is highly encouraged and yields great results. Photography and recording inside the auditorium during a live opera or ballet performance are always strictly forbidden.
Time needed
Admiring the striking facade and walking along the adjacent riverfront will easily take thirty to forty-five minutes. Attending a full opera or ballet performance usually requires setting aside at least three hours of your evening.
