Cruce de Arinaga is a functional and animated town in the southeast of Gran Canaria, serving primarily as a residential and commercial area. Its strategic location near the Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) and the major Arinaga Industrial Park makes it an economic hub for the island. For tourists, the town is less of a resort and more of a practical base for exploring the less crowded east coast. The nearby coastal town of Playa de Arinaga has a lovely seaside promenade, natural sea-water pools, and excellent fish restaurants known for their fresh, local dishes. The area is world-famous among windsurfers, especially the Pozo Izquierdo beach, just a few minutes' drive away, which hosts world championship events. Getting there is very easy due to its direct connection to the GC-1 motorway. The climate is mild and windy year-round, making it a handy spot for water sports in any season. Cruce de Arinaga provides a glimpse into authentic Canarian life, away from the major tourist centers in the south.
