Cintsa

Cintsa, also spelled Chintsa, is a lesser-known spot located at the gateway to the legendary Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape. The village is split into Cintsa East and Cintsa West, separated by the mouth of the Chintsa River. Here, the warm Indian Ocean meets a pristine coastline of untouched white sand beaches, forested dunes, and rolling green hills that evoke the landscapes of Ireland. Travelers visit Cintsa to escape the crowds of mainstream tourism. Activities range from long beach strolls and horse riding along the shore to surfing and canoeing on the river. Cintsa is also renowned for its sustainable tourism initiatives and community volunteer projects, giving the area a unique sense of place.
