Divčibare is a well-known mountain health resort located on a high plateau of Maljen Mountain in Western Serbia. At an average altitude of 980 meters, it features a unique convergence of Mediterranean and continental air currents, creating a therapeutic microclimate used for treating respiratory conditions since the 19th century. The terrain is characterized by gentle slopes, dense pine and birch forests, and expansive meadows that bloom vibrantly in spring. The resort is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering well-maintained trails to viewpoints like Crni Vrh, Paljba, and Ljuti Krš. During winter, Divčibare serves as an accessible ski destination with two main slopes, one of which features night skiing and artificial snow making. The local market is, offering authentic products like Valjevo honey, homemade 'kajmak' cream, and traditional wooden handicrafts. Located only 120 km from Belgrade, it is one of the most accessible mountain retreats in the country. While winter is popular for skiing, the best time for health-focused visits is during spring and autumn when the air is freshest and the landscape is most colorful.
