Water temperature…
Vrdnik is the most prominent spa destination in the Vojvodina region, situated at an altitude of 210 meters within the Fruška Gora National Park. Historically a coal mining settlement, the town transformed into a health resort after the discovery of hypothermal springs reaching 32.8°C. This water is particularly beneficial for treating rheumatic conditions and postoperative recovery. Today, the town features modern hotel complexes with extensive indoor and outdoor pool systems, making it a popular year-round retreat. Beyond the thermal pools, Vrdnik is rich in history and culture. The 16th-century Vrdnik-Ravanica Monastery is a key landmark, once serving as the resting place for Prince Lazar's relics. Another notable site is the Vrdnik Tower (Vrdnička kula), a medieval fortification built on Roman foundations, accessible via a scenic walking trail through the forest. The surrounding national park provides countless hiking paths and is home to over a dozen other Orthodox monasteries within a short driving distance. Gastronomy in Vrdnik focuses on traditional Srem specialties and local wines from the Fruška Gora vineyards. The town is easily accessible, located about 80 km from Belgrade and 25 km from Novi Sad. The best time to visit is during the shoulder seasons when the mountain air is crisp and the thermal pools provide a warm contrast to the cooler temperatures, well-suited for combining outdoor activities with relaxation.
