Akagera Giraffe Savanna (Rwanda)

Weather…

The Giraffe Savanna in Akagera National Park is home to a healthy population of Maasai giraffes, which are one of the park's main attractions. These gentle giants roam the acacia woodlands and open plains in search of their favorite leaves. Akagera is one of the few places in Rwanda where giraffes can be observed in their natural habitat. Their impressive height allows them to reach leaves inaccessible to other herbivores and gives them an excellent vantage point to spot predators early. A herd of giraffes moving gracefully through the landscape is an unforgettable sight. Protecting their habitat from poaching and human encroachment is crucial for their survival and a central concern of the park management.
