The town is famous for having the longest market square in Europe, stretching for about 380 meters. This medieval square is the heart of the city, surrounded by appealing townhouses. The most significant landmark is the Pułtusk Castle, a former residence of the Bishops of Płock, which now houses a hotel and a cultural center known as the House of Polonia. The Collegiate Basilica of the Annunciation, with its Renaissance chapel featuring unique acoustic properties, is another must-see. Pułtusk is also known for a major meteorite shower event in 1868. Gastronomically, visitors should try regional Masovian dishes. The town is easily accessible by car from Warsaw, located about 70 km to the north.
