Frombork Cathedral (Poland)

Weather…

The Frombork Cathedral, a majestic Gothic brick fortress on the shores of the Vistula Lagoon, is one of Poland's most historically and scientifically significant sites. This massive fortified complex was not only the seat of the Warmian Cathedral Chapter but also the place where the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus spent most of his life. Copernicus worked here as a canon and wrote his groundbreaking work, 'De revolutionibus orbium coelestium', in Frombork, formulating the heliocentric theory of the solar system. The cathedral still houses his tomb today. Visitors can explore the impressive architecture, the massive defensive walls, and the Copernicus Museum, which is dedicated to the life and work of this visionary scholar.
