Bogatynia is an industrial town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, located in the "Black Triangle" region at the Poland-Germany-Czech Republic tripoint. The town's life is closely intertwined with the Turów lignite mine and the Turów Power Station, which are the largest employers in the region and a significant part of Poland's energy production. Although the town's industrial character is dominant, the surrounding area provides numerous natural and cultural attractions. The nearby Zittau Mountains offer hiking trails and impressive rock formations. The nearby German town of Zittau and the Czech town of Hrádek nad Nisou are easily accessible, allowing visitors to glimpse into the cultures of three countries in one day.
