Stryn is a tourist hub in the Nordfjord area, located at the head of the Innvikfjord in Vestland county. The municipality is world-famous for its spectacular nature, characterized by deep valleys, turquoise lakes such as Oldevatnet, and mighty glacier tongues. A unique highlight is the Stryn Summer Ski Centre on the Tystig Glacier, which enables skiing well into the summer months. Geographically, Stryn serves as the gateway to Jostedalsbreen National Park, where the Briksdalsbreen, one of the most accessible glacier arms, attracts visitors from around the world. Historically, the region was defined by mountain farms, some of which now serve as museums or hiking destinations. The town itself gives modern infrastructure for tourists and is an important transportation node between the fjordlands and the mountain passes leading inland. In recent years, the Loen Skylift in the neighboring village, easily reachable from Stryn, has further enhanced the region's touristic significance.
