Rozenheuvel (Netherlands)

Weather…

Rozenheuvel is one of the most prominent elevations within the Veluwezoom National Park in the province of Gelderland. Reaching a height of approximately 110 meters above sea level, it ranks among the highest points in the entire Veluwe region, offering sweeping views over the surrounding heathlands and forests. Its geological formation dates back to the Saale glaciation about 150,000 years ago, when advancing ice sheets pushed up the ground into massive terminal moraines. Today, the hill is a central part of a protected natural area renowned for its rich flora and fauna, particularly red deer and wild boar. The proximity to the historic village of Rozendaal and the famous Rosendael Castle adds a significant cultural dimension to the area. Hikers frequently use the steep paths of Rozenheuvel as a physical challenge within the otherwise predominantly flat Dutch landscape.
