📋 Practical info

📅
Best season
The most favorable seasons to explore the high moorlands and spot elusive wildlife are during the clear, relatively warmer months of spring and autumn. The monsoon season brings heavy rains and leeches, while winter often shrouds the higher elevations in deep, impassable snow.
🌅
Best time of day
Dawn features crisp visibility across the vast green meadows, making it easier to spot grazing herbivores and active birdlife against the striking mountain backdrop. Late afternoon strolls near the forest edges can also be highly rewarding before temperatures rapidly plummet at night.
📜
Etiquette
Maintain the tranquil atmosphere of the sacred meditation sites by remaining absolutely quiet and avoiding any disruptive behaviors. Do not collect any flora, disturb the wildlife habitats, or leave any trace of trash behind in this remote, pristine mountain wilderness.
🎒
What to bring
Robust, broken-in trekking boots are completely non-negotiable for navigating the rugged, uneven trails leading to the park. Pack versatile, layered clothing to handle unpredictable alpine temperature swings, alongside comprehensive wilderness survival essentials and first-aid gear.
🧭
Getting there
Reaching this remote sanctuary typically demands a multi-day trek starting from nearby regional transport hubs, requiring considerable physical stamina. Hiring an experienced local guide and securing necessary permits beforehand is highly recommended to safely navigate the rugged terrain.
🦌
What to expect
Wildlife encounters in dense pine forests and expansive moorlands rely heavily on luck and persistent, quiet observation over several days. Focus on absorbing the serene spiritual energy of the landscape rather than purely chasing rare animal sightings that may take days to materialize.
