The temple, perched at an altitude of 3,794 meters, is dedicated to the goddess Pathibhara Devi, who is considered a powerful manifestation of Durga or Kali. Devotees believe that the goddess has the power to fulfill the wishes of those who undertake the arduous pilgrimage to her shrine. The pilgrimage often involves a multi-day trek through dense forests and rugged terrain.
