The Nisporeni Hills form the highest and most dissected part of the Central Moldavian Plateau, also known as Codru. This region is home to Bălănești Hill, which, at 429 meters, is the highest point in the Republic of Moldova. The relief is characterized by deep valleys, steep slopes, and prominent ridges, giving the landscape an almost mountainous character.
