Mole Antonelliana (Italy)

Weather…

The Mole Antonelliana is the unmistakable landmark of Turin and was the tallest masonry building in the world upon its completion in 1889. Originally conceived as a synagogue by Alessandro Antonelli, the project was taken over by the city due to rising costs and architectural ambitions. Standing at 167.5 meters, it dominates the skyline and features a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the Alps from its observation deck. The unique architecture combines Neoclassical elements with bold vertical lines and a distinctive dome. Since 2000, the building has housed the National Museum of Cinema (Museo Nazionale del Cinema), one of the world's most significant film museums, with interactive exhibits arranged vertically through the vast interior. A glass elevator, which ascends freely to the top, provides a unique experience for visitors. The Mole is also featured on the Italian 2-cent coin, symbolizing the city's technical progress and pride.
