MUSE - Science Museum in Trento is recognized as one of Europe's most innovative science institutions. Designed by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano, the museum opened its doors in July 2013. The building's futuristic glass and steel structure was inspired by the jagged silhouettes of the surrounding Dolomite mountains. Across six floors, the museum features interactive exhibits on biodiversity, climate change, and the geological history of the Alps. A highlight is the central vertical courtyard, where taxidermy animals and skeletons are suspended to depict a floating ecosystem. MUSE places a strong emphasis on sustainability and holds a LEED Gold certification for its eco-friendly construction. In addition to permanent galleries, the facility houses a tropical greenhouse and various laboratories for educational research. It stands as the centerpiece of the Le Albere urban redevelopment project on a former industrial site.
