Kovalam
Kovalam has been a prominent spot on the international tourist map since the 1970s. This coastal town is famous for its three adjacent crescent-shaped beaches, with Lighthouse Beach being the most iconic. The namesake red-and-white striped lighthouse at the southern tip provides panoramic panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the lush palm-covered coastline. Hawa Beach and Samudra Beach offer quieter alternatives to the bustling main strip. Kovalam is also a renowned hub for authentic Ayurveda treatments and yoga, with many world-class resorts offering traditional healing therapies. The shallow waters are well-suited for swimming, while surf enthusiasts can find decent waves during the right season. The beach promenade is lined with cafes serving the fresh catch of the day alongside traditional Kerala spices. The best time to visit is from September to March when the weather is convenient for sunbathing and water activities. Located just 15 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram, Kovalam is easily accessible from the city's international airport and railway station.
