The Jászberény Zoo was established in 1958, making it one of the oldest regional zoos in Hungary. Located in a scenic park area on the outskirts of Jászberény, the facility initially started as a small wildlife park but has grown into a modern conservation center. Spanning 4.5 hectares, it is home to over 100 species of animals from across the globe, with a particular focus on primates and bears. The zoo is widely known for its daily animal shows and educational feedings, which provide visitors with in-depth knowledge about animal behavior and ecology. Significant investments have been made in recent years to build naturalistic enclosures, such as the popular bear sanctuary and the primate house. Additionally, the zoo plays a crucial role in local wildlife rescue, treating and rehabilitating injured native species. Its park-like setting and intimate atmosphere make it a beloved destination for families and nature enthusiasts in the Jászság region.
