Kerepestarcsa is a significant settlement in Pest County, located on the eastern fringe of Budapest within the photogenic Gödöllő Hills region. The town is historically unique for its administrative evolution, having been formed in 1978 by the unification of Kerepes and Kistarcsa, only to be separated again in 1994 following a local referendum that restored the independence of both municipalities.
