Nikiti is one of the most dynamic and popular tourist destinations in the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki. The town has a fascinating dual character: the animated, contemporary coastal settlement and the historical Old Nikiti. The Old Town, situated on a hill across the main road, features beautifully restored Macedonian-style stone houses, narrow cobbled alleys, and the historic Church of Agios Nikitas, providing a welcoming step back in time. The coastal area of Nikiti is a long, beautifully organized stretch of fine sand and shallow, turquoise waters, making it extremely family-friendly. The main Nikiti Beach is lined with sunbeds and is the center of daytime activity. Just south of the town, visitors can discover more secluded and remarkable spots like Kastri beach and Small Kastri Beach, which offer pristine sands and crystal-clear swimming conditions. The famous Agios Ioannis Beach, with its striking white sand and sunset views, is also located nearby. Along the palm-lined promenade, gastronomy flourishes with numerous tavernas, modern cafes, and seafood restaurants right by the water. Nikiti is also renowned for its high-quality local honey, a must-buy for visitors. The town serves as an excellent base for exploring Sithonia, easily reachable by car from Thessaloniki in just over an hour.
