The city is famous for its large, bustling markets and a business environment that operates nearly 24 hours a day. Despite the infrastructural pressures of rapid urbanization, Ashaiman has become a crucial transportation link connecting Accra with eastern Ghana and neighboring Togo. Its social fabric is remarkably diverse, drawing residents from all ethnic groups across the country.
